Art was my favorite subject as a young student while in school. I grew up in rural coastal Virginia and the Sunday comics section from The Daily Press was my first introduction to color, shapes and storytelling. I loved drawing even when I was bored sitting at my desk listening to my teachers. As I got older, this love never faded and eventually my life’s journey brought me to the University of Maine to study and create art.

I use many different mediums and material to create my art. Sometimes I work with one medium (drawing, paint, etc.). Other times, I combine mixed mediums and materials. It all depends on the project. I enjoy the flow of the journey towards creating and learning.

I gather inspiration from life experience, family, rural living, social observation and observing nature. The effect of weathering on objects and people in my earthly travels also attracts my artistic sensibilities. I walk the border of traditional and nontraditional art forms with the ability to travel to either side when making art. I
